Dine in the Dark

a group of us went to this restaurant called O'Noir last week.

o'noir means "in the dark". so basically you dine in the dark - no candles, flashlights, no cell phone, and no cheating! we choose our menu first before being led in single file, hands on shoulders, into a PITCH DARK dining room.

if i were to do a realistic sketch it would look something like this:

see, i wasn't kidding - it's THAT dark!!

i felt a bit nerve racking at first sitting in complete darkness, but as we started making silly jokes i knew right away it's going to be tons of fun!

for illustration purpose, here is how we look like under a night-vision camera:

i had grilled calamari for starter, five spice filet mignon with vegetable and potatoes for main, and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. the food was not top notch but it was pretty good. the knifes were not sharp for safety reason, and the filet mignon was cut into pieces before it was served.

my overall experience? 4 stars out of 5. i found it very entertaining and i would recommend this to anyone!

Riding the Elevator

on my way home after a long day of work, i bump into hubby in our condo's elevator! so naturally we played a little Grey's Anatomy elevator scene...

A Tale of the Purple Dragon

Long long time ago there was a girl named Roxy who loved to puff warm breath into the cold winter air on her way to work.

On one cold snowy morning she stepped off the streetcar, as usual she inhaled a big mouthful of air. she held it in for a minute or so to warm it up in her chest, and with one huff and puff she blew it all out at once and created a big white cloud of smoke around her.

as the shadow her body slowly emerge from the smoke, the morning commuting crowds gasped at the startling transformation of a girl into a fearful man-eating beast!!

MUA-HA-HA-HAA~!!! beware people, run and hide if you can! for SHE is the MIGHTY RED-EYES PURPLE DRAGON! the mystical creature that will bring extreme chaos into this world!

the red-eyes purple dragon stepped forward and snarled as she looked down on the screaming crowds. it was almost as if the preys that had been laid out before her were not even worth the effort to kill them.

she sneered and spread her wings. a loud roar ripped from her throat as energy gathered up in her mouth in the form of a sphere. it shone brightly and crackled with lightening as it built up. the majestic beast flapped her wings and with another earth-shattering roar, the red-eyes purple dragon fired a massive energy beam straight down.

the screaming crowd, having little time to react, were quickly engulfed by the attack and their bodies crumbled into a pile of rubble under her power.

but it did not stop there. a burst stream of destruction continued on and engulfed the whole city.

as the stream of destruction subsided and the red-eyes purple dragon landed back on the ground with a thunderous crash, sending smoke and shrapnel flying everywhere, she let out a deafening prolonged roar and faded into great clouds of smoke.

as the smoke cleared, the girl reappeared out of the smoke.

she arrived in front of her office building just in time, and promptly went inside as if nothing has ever happened.

New Toy

check out my new toy - wireless graphic tablet!

like all the new gadgets, it will take a bit of time to get use to... but as you can see from my first try, i think it's pretty neat and efficient. i'm not bothered by the jaggedy line, in fact it makes the sketch a little kiddish, which is fun!

感謝老婆文章讀後感

剛剛在網上讀到某個不認識的網友寫給他老婆的感謝文章，看了一肚子氣！

內容是千篇一律且陳腔濫調，以下是雙黃蛋的加油添醋嘲笑版，但真實文章也不過是把以下的字句用美麗的詞藻包裝起來：

「老婆呀，我們在一起這麼多年了，我沒送你花、沒給你禮物、也沒對你說我愛你，這個家讓你從快樂的少女變成堅強的黃臉婆，而我這個賦閒在家老爺子只會茶來伸手，飯來張口，家裡大小事都由妳來跑腿張羅，我在這裡貓哭死耗子的對妳說聲辛苦妳了，真謝謝妳呀...」

老實說，我覺得一點也不感人！為什麼東方男人只會說這些老掉牙的感恩話？明明就是懶惰不在乎老婆吃苦，偶爾講一些不痛不癢的哎呀謝謝妳這些屁話，心想這可以交差啦，笨女人就會死心塌地的繼續為我辛苦下去...

不可思議的是，還有人讀完深受感動：

回應1：真感人！祝福你們地老天荒、不離不棄，恩愛一輩子... (雙黃蛋碎碎念：這位網友好殘忍，要他老婆辛苦一輩子...)

回應2：好真心的一篇，老婆一定會很感動！(雙黃蛋碎碎念：這位網友看來跟他老婆一樣笨，所以很容易被感動...)

回應3：你真是好老公呀！！！ (雙黃蛋：昏倒 + 口吐白沫)

在這裡我了解了一個不爭的事實：夫妻一個願打、一個願挨，我還有什麼話說？

Ball Game & Tangerines

a typical evening after work - hubby sits in front of tv peeling tangerines while watching his favorite baseball game. roxy sits beside him pretends to share his interest but secretly hoping to switch to another channel. suddenly, the team hubby roots for just scored a home run and he jumps up with joy!

the moral of the story? don't watch ball game while peeling tangerines.

Ok, I'm short

this is me and my hubby - we're newlyweds.

he's much taller than me and he likes to use me as his chin rest. i didn't mind because i enjoy using him as a lift! let me give you an example, this is how i do laundry.

if you live in a condo and have a stacked washer/dryer unit, you know what i mean.

see, it's good to be short... :)

婚禮圓滿落幕

我設計的謝卡

婚禮已圓滿落幕，我們也鬆了一口氣，不用再沒天沒夜的準備結婚的大小事。

為了要保有自己的獨特色彩和秉棄傳統的繁文縟節，我們決定婚禮的一切包括經費、設計、怖置、規劃、行程... 等完全自己來。回想前幾個月幾乎每天下班後都忙到很晚才睡，往往睡五個小時就得起床繼續忙碌，比上班還要累好幾倍，一切都是為了結婚當天。

不過雙黃蛋可不是來訴苦的，結婚當天看到辛苦多月的成果，覺得非常有成就感。雙黃蛋是婚禮支持者所以再怎麼累也值得。因為愛情讓人生多彩多姿，愛情的開花結果是值得慶祝的。

非常非常感激家人和朋友們熱情的支持和滿滿的祝福 ，謝謝大家，我們結婚了！
